The tour begins at your hotel or a location of your choice. On our way to Delphi, we will make our first stops in the historic cities of Thebes and Livadia, both rich in ancient history.

Delphi, known in Greek mythology as the “Navel of the Earth,” is our next destination. Upon arrival, you will be captivated by the impressive natural landscape framed by two towering rocks. This is the sanctuary of Delphi, home to the most famous oracle of ancient Greece, where Pythia delivered her prophecies. During our visit, we will explore the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, the Castalia Spring, the ancient Gymnasium, and the ancient theater.

After Delphi, we will head to the charming village of Arachova, one of the most beautiful spots in the Greek countryside. Here, we will enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the stunning views. You’ll also have the opportunity to wander through the village’s traditional shops, cafes, and restaurants.

1st stop
Temple of Apollo

The temple of Apollo was regarded as the residence of the god and the seat of his oracle, giving it a prominent place within the sanctuary of Delphi. As the fame of the oracle spread throughout the known world, the temple's grandeur needed to reflect its universal importance and splendor. According to mythology, the first temple of Apollo in the area was a simple structure made from laurel branches, the second was crafted from beeswax and feathers, and the third was built of copper. The fourth, constructed by the mythical architects Trophonius and Agamedes with the assistance of Apollo himself, was made of stone. This temple was destroyed by fire in 548 BC and was later rebuilt, grander and more majestic than before.
